Simplicity. Brahms’ Händel-Variations for piano.

Brahms: Variations and Fugue on a Theme of Händel in B flat major, op. 24 by Gerhard Oppitz

Listen to Brahms’ Händel-Variations.
I find in it: simplicity.
Simplicity in its expression which makes it unmissably expressive.
I find truth in it. Truth in expression.
The music flows from the heart and goes to the heart.
”Von Herzen – möge es wieder zu Herzen gehen”
as Beethoven wrote to his Missa solemnis.
Immensely joyful this music is but also very dramatic, full of sadness, lamenting, comforting and peaceful.
I see the sea in front of me in all its different colours and depths when I listen to this music. I find God in it. And myself. The whole world, like a shimmering caleidoscope. Music is more than just entertainment. Music teaches me about God, life and myself. Music is about the essence. Existential. It lets me connect to my inner fountain.

Simplicity.
I believe in the end everything is very simple.
If we dare to listen to our soul.
There lies all truth.
Be free, my friend.
